The details shown below have been collated from various boat lists published over the past 30 years or so. These lists were themselves based on earlier sources that are no longer available, and have been transcribed and re-typed many times. These lists contain inconsistencies and mis-spellings, and the details below are my best interpretation of the conflicting information.

The original source came from Sailcraft, which provided the IOA with the original buyers’ names. In many cases the boats were sold through an agent, especially in Sweden and the USA, and the IOA did not receive the names of the buyers.

I do apologise if I have mis-spelt or omitted anyone’s name, or the name of their boat, and welcome correction. I expect that many mistakes were made in trying to read people’s handwriting, especially from foreign owners where the names are less familiar. I also apologise if I have inadvertently assigned your boat to another person, or vice-versa, and if this is the case could you let me know and I will correct it. Obviously the details shown below do not constitute proof of ownership. If there are any cases of conflicting claims to hull numbers I will attempt to resolve them by reference to the original records.

Undoubtedly the details shown below are not a complete record of every boat’s history. Indeed for many boats we have no details beyond the original buyer’s name. If you have, or know of, a boat for which we have no current information, could you please let me have the details?

I do hope that people do not object to their names being published; I have deliberately withheld addresses and contact details from this website, although these have in the past been circulated to IOA members.
